With preliminary results placing him on the seventh row for the opening night feature, Robinson gained one spot in the 40-lapper to finish 12th.
Back in action on Thursday, Ross was one of 60 LOLMDS competitors entered at I-80 Speedway (Greenwood, Neb.) as the final Silver Dollar Nationals weekend promoted by the Kosiski family kicked off with the Dirt Track Bank Go 50. Relying on a provisional into the $12,000-to-win A-Main, Robinson was an early retiree from the 50-lap affair on the 11th circuit.
For a pair of heat races on Friday, Robinson posted an eighth and seventh-place finish, relegating him into one of three B-Mains for another shot at the finale.
With wet weather postponing Saturday’s consolation races to Sunday, Ross logged a ninth-place finish, forcing him to use a provisional into the main event. With $53,000 on the line, Robinson was credited with a 33rd-place outing in the 80-lapper.
