Beard claims $5,000 Comp Cams victory at I-30 Speedway

TRUMANN, Ark. (07/25/22) – Kyle Beard raced to his second win of the year on Saturday night with a $5,000 victory at I-30 Speedway aboard his Gary Beard Trucking No. 86 Mann Motorsports / Black Diamond Race Cars / Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model. (Millie Tanner images)

The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series victory offered the Arkansas racer redemption after seeing another $5,000 win slip from his grasp at the ¼-mile oval back in June.

“We thought we had that Rockabilly 45 win locked up at I-30 (Speedway) back in June, but I got together with a lapped car late in the race, and it cost us the win. It was great to get back there and get redemption with a win,” Beard said. “On Friday night Logan (Martin) did a great job, and we finished second. Overall, it was a hot weekend but my team gave me a great car both nights.”

Behind the wheel of his Gary Beard Trucking No. 86 Late Model, Kyle Beard followed the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) to 67 Speedway of Texarkana (Texarkana, Ark.) on Friday night for the Kenneth Mitchell Memorial.

With a second-place finish in his heat race placing him on the second row for the $5,555-to-win A-Main, Beard gained two spots in the 40-lap affair to register a second-place finish. He trailed Logan Martin to the checkers with Jamie Burford rounding out the podium.

The following night at I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Ark.), Kyle laid down the fastest lap in his qualifying group before picking up a heat race win.

Leading flag-to-flag in the feature, Beard cruised to his second win of the season in the 40-lapper, which came ahead of Logan Martin, Mason Oberkramer, Tyler Stevens, and Jamie Burford. He earned $5,000 for his 22nd-career CCSDS victory.

Kyle sits fourth in the latest CCSDS point standings.

The team will be idle this weekend before returning to action on August 6 with the $5,000-to-win Cow Patty 50 at Old No. 1 Speedway (Harrisburg, Ark.). The event is sanctioned by the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) Super Late Models.
