Boone Coleman Memorial Gator 50 for Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Northern Series at Portsmouth Raceway Park Saturday July 30

SOMERSET, KENTUCKY (July 24, 2022) – The Valvoline Iron-Man Racing Northern Series will make its second appearance of the 2022 racing season at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, OH on Saturday July 30 for the 11th Annual Boone Coleman Memorial Gator 50 presented by Berndt and Murfin Insurance, paying $5,000 to win and $450 to start. The Brucebilt Performance Parts Iron-Man Open Wheel Modified (UMP) Northern Series will also be in action for this event, racing for $1,200 to win and $125 to start.

The 11th Annual Boone Coleman Memorial Gator 50 presented by Berndt and Murfin Insurance will take place at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, OH on Saturday July 30 and will see the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Northern Series in a full program of Practice, E-Z-GO Time Trials, Sunoco Race Fuels Heats, B-Mains, and the 50-lap, $5,000 to win/$450 to start 11th Annual Boone Coleman Memorial Gator 50 presented by Berndt and Murfin Insurance. The Brucebilt Performance Parts Iron-Man Open Wheel Modified (UMP) Northern Series will also be a part of the racing program in a full program of E-Z-GO Hot Lap/Time Trials, Sunoco Race Fuels Heats, B-Mains, and a 20-lap, $1,200 to win/$125 to start feature event. Other divisions in competition as part of the 11th Annual Boone Coleman Memorial Gator 50 will be the track’s Limited Late Model and Sport Mod divisions.

Activities at Portsmouth Raceway Park for the 11th Annual Boone Coleman Memorial Gator 50 will see the pit area and general admission area open at 4:00 p.m. with the drivers meeting set for 6:00 p.m., with practice laps and time trials set to begin at 6:30 p.m., with green flag racing set for 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices at Portsmouth Raceway Park on Saturday July 30 in the general admission area will be $15 for adults (children ages 7-12 $5 and children ages 6 and under are free). A pit pass will be $30.

The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Northern Series will sanction the Super Late Model portion of the event on Saturday July 30 and the tire rule will be as follows: Hoosier 1300 anywhere on the car, 1425 as a left-rear, right-front and right-rear options; American Racer 44 anywhere on the car, 48 a left-rear, right-front and right-rear options (no limit on number of tires that can be used; NO 29.0 size tires on the left rear; the droop rule will be in effect, along with the new standardized 2022 body rules). The entry fee will be $100 and transponders for timing/scoring will be available for rent at the track. Any driver not making the 22-car starting field will receive $50 tow money.

The Brucebilt Performance Parts Iron-Man Open Wheel Modified (UMP) Northern Series will sanction the Open Wheel Modified portion of the program on Saturday July 30 and the tire rule will be as follows: Hoosier M30s, M60 (right-rear option only) (grooving and siping of tires are allowed per UMP rulebook; UMP 2022 body rules apply; no limit of tires that can be used). The entry fee will be $10 for series members and $20 for non-series members, with transponders for timing/scoring purposes available for rent at the track. Any driver not making the 22-car starting field at each event will receive $30 tow money.

Devin Gilpin of Columbus, IN was the winner of the 2021 edition of the Boone Coleman Memorial Gator 50, as he would score the victory over Josh Rice of Verona, KY, R.J. Conley of Wheelersburg, OH, Jared Hawkins of Fairmont, WV, and Colten Burdette of Parkersburg, WV.
