Vandenbergh invades Deer Creek Speedway for Gopher 50 weekend

With 41 Late Models entered for the event co-sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) and the Lucas Oil Midwest LateModel Racing Association (MLRA), Vandenbergh dropped two spots in his heat to finish ninth, relegating him into the B-Main. Sending the top-three into the preliminary feature, Kolby passed five cars but fell short with a fifth-place finish.

For another $5,000-to-win preliminary feature on Friday, Kolby’s night was over after missing a transfer spot in his heat race and consolation event.

Receiving a provisional into Saturday’s $50,000-to-win Gopher 50, Vandenbergh improved three spots in the 75-lap affair to finish 22nd.

Kolby remains in third in the latest Lucas Oil MLRA point standings.
