Thiel quick before trouble in All Star start at I-96 Speedway; All Star and IRA Wisconsin tripleheader ahead

By Fully Injected Motorsports:

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (May 16, 2022) - The somewhat last minute decision to venture southeast into the Wolverine State to join the All Star Circuit of Champions at I-96 Speedway nearly paid off for Scotty Thiel and Team 73, but unfortunately, all potential was cut short, forced to retire early after contact with a spinning lapped car caused irreparable damages. Despite the ending chaos, Thiel was impressive, leading 11 laps of the 30-lap, $8,500-to-win program after kicking off the evening with commanding heat race and dash victories.

Thiel, driver of the Team 73, Gibbsville Cheese, Walkers Game Ear, Professional Plating Inc, Scott Thiel Builders, Stealth Cam, Muddy Outdoors, Complete Water Inc, KSI Supply, GRP Motorsports, Racers Hall, Triple X Chassis, K1 Race Gear, HRP, King Racing Products, Keizer Wheels, No. 73 sprint car, was working toward a first-ever All Star victory during his trip to Michigan, hoping to add to his 2022 win total that already includes a pair of IRA Outlaw Sprint Series victories.

“We didn’t want our night to end like it did, but we’ll shake it off and move forward,” Scotty Thiel explained. “Hats off to this entire team. To roll out of the box and be that fast says a lot about this team and what we can do. I think we were good enough to win, but some things bit us and we’ll learn from it. Our goal is to transfer our momentum from the beginning of the night into next weekend’s tripleheader with the IRA and All Stars.”

ON DECK:
The “Big Wheel” Scotty Thiel and Team 73 will continue their 2022 campaign with an All Star Circuit of Champions and IRA Outlaw Sprint Series Wisconsin tripleheader on Friday through Sunday, May 20-22, visiting Wilmot Raceway, the Plymouth Dirt Track, and Angell Park Speedway in consecutive fashion. All three events will award $6,000 paydays.
