Salina Speedway Added To Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series Lineup

Bryan Hulbert – DRUMRIGHT, Okla. (January 4, 2022) There will be two trips to a track named Salina in 2022, but the first will be to Salina, Kan. as the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series returns to the three-eighths mile oval for the first time since 2019.

“We’re looking forward to going back to Salina Speedway. Every time we’ve been there, the fan turnout has been amazing. Tommy [Hendrickson] puts on a great show, and offers a great facility for fans and racers,” stated ASCS owner, Terry Mattox.

Slated from Friday, April 22, Salina Speedway has been a very popular stop for teams and fans alike over the years. Six previous visits since 2012, every trip has yielded just as many winners, and one family earning three of those wins.

Topping events in 2012, Kevin Swindell was the first to strike. Uncle Jeff Swindell went to Victory Lane in 2014, while Jeff’s brother, Sammy Swindell, was victorious in 2018. Between the Swindell wins, Washington’s Seth Bergman topped events in 2013. Aaron Reutzel won in 2015, while Sam Hafertepe, Jr. grabbed his win in 2019.

Salina Speedway is one of 11 Kansas tracks that has seen action with the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series.

Salina Speedway is located at 2841 S. Burma Rd. in Salina, Kan. Information on the Kanas oval can be found at http://www.racesalinaspeedways.com or by calling (785) 292-9220. The track is also on Facebook. Times, prices, and other details will be posted as the event gets closer.
