Nothdurft shows early speed at Ocala and All-Tech
Bargain Barn Motorsports and Blair Nothdurft returned to action on Tuesday as the newly rebranded Ocala Speedway (Ocala, Fla.) hosted the two-day Winter Nationals.
After topping his 20-car group in time trials aboard his Western Provisions No. 76 Late Model, Nothdurft squeezed into Tuesday’s A-Main with the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat. Losing three positions in the 40-lap opener, Blair recorded a 17th-place outing.
Coming out the gates firing again on Wednesday, Blair laid down the fastest lap in his qualifying group before picking up a flag-to-flag victory in his heat. Lined up on the front row for the $10,000-to-win program, Nothdurft was an early retiree on the ninth circuit after tagging the turn-two wall following an early restart.
Joining a field of 48 LOLMDS entries on Friday at All-Tech Raceway (Lake City, Fla.), Nothdurft recorded a pair of sixth-place finishes in his heat race and B-Main, ending his night early.
For Saturday’s Winter Nationals finale, Blair edged into the $15,000-to-win main event with a third-place finish in his heat. Fading outside the top-10 in the 50-lap affair, Nothdurft crossed the line in 20th.
