Skylar Marlar Dominates at LCS with a Great Race Taking Place Through the Field While Fouts Holds Off Sise and Lowe for First Touring Series Victory

Twenty-four cars signed in for the Red, White, and Boom 40 at Lake Cumberland Speedway for the start of our 4th of July Weekend Swing. A stout field of cars readied themselves for battle!

Skylar Marlar would dominate BHR Fabrication Qualifying with a time of 13.744. Hayden Cardwell would go second with a time of 14.054 while Trevor Sise picked up the third quick time at a 14.101. Justin Smith who was out for the first time this season with us turned in the 4th quickest time at a 14.178 while Zach Sise would round out the top five at a 14.214. Jake Henry also made his first series dash turning a time of 14.232.

Skylar Marlar would also grab the win in the ATC Bolts & Fasteners Dash over Hayden Cardwell and Justin Smith. Rick Hendrick City Chevrolet Heat 1 went to Tyrel Todd over AJ Hicks and Roman Wesley. Outside Groove Heat 2 went to Jordan Hedger over Logan Walls and Shane Craine in his first AAS start.

The feature started with a pile up in turn one on lap one before a long green flag run produced some of the best racing you've ever seen. Several of the cars from the lap one incident started quickly battling their way back toward the front as Skylar Marlar ran away to hide for first there was great racing through the field with clean racing by lead lap and lapped cars. Trevor Sise and Hayden Cardwell battled side-by-side for many laps for second. Lapped cars were battling for position while also being mindful of the leader. A spin on lap twenty-eight brought out a caution. Another came out on lap 30 for Joshua Chesney who was having fuel pickup issues when it got to a certain point who filled up and rejoined the show. We then finished the race under green with Skylar Marlar picking up the win in dominating fashion. Trevor Sise would take second wihile ninth place starting AJ Hicks took third. Hayden Cardwell would hold on for fourth after knocking his spoiler off near the end of the event with Logan Walls, who was in the lap one incident, came from the tail to fifth. Zach Sise and Justin Smith would take sixth and seventh respectably. Jordan Hedger, Joshua Chesney, and Tyrel Todd would round out the top ten.

Night two took us on a Sunday for the rescheduled Jamie "Moe" Slone Memorial at Mountain Motor Speedway for the first time in a few years for the series. Twenty-six cars signed in making it the second largest field the series has ever had at the track.

Brandon Fouts was ready to welcome the touring stars in in BHR Fabrication Qualifying taking the fast time with a 14.388. Just behind him was one of the touring stars, Baillie Lowe, with a time of 14.513 while Trevor Sise went third fast at a 14.520. Another local racer Stephen Martin took the fourth fastest time a 14.543 while the previous night's winner Skylar Marlar went 14.551.

Brandon Fouts would also take the victory in the ATC Bolts & Fasteners Dash over Baillie Lowe and Trevor Sise. Rick Hendrick City Chevrolet Heat 1 went to Shannon Thornsberry over Jordan Hedger and Logan Walls. Outside Groove Heat 2 would be won by AJ Hicks over Gunner Johnson and Tommy Bailey. While PPM Racing Products Heat 3 was won by Raymond Nichols over Hayden Cardwell and Jonathon Couch.

The feature was set but this one would be caution filled unlike the previous night. Brandon Fouts jumped to the lead and about every time he'd catch lapped traffic there would be a caution. One lapped car spun collecting Stephen Martin and Skylar Marlar effectively ending their shots at the victory. After several cautions the points leader AJ Hicks was up to third, but had a battery failure giving him his worst points night of the season and letting some of the contenders close in a little bit. A ten lap green flag run just past the halfway point saw Baillie Lowe clicking times faster then Brandon Fouts, before another caution flew. On the restart Zach Sise wrestled his way past Lowe to take second. At the end of the night Fouts would capture his first career touring series victory in the Jamie "Moe" Slone Memorial. Zach Sise would take second with Baillie Lowe finishing third. Gunner Johnson had a career best touring night finishing fourth while Hayden Cardwell took fifth. Keaton Smith was coming to the checker next, but spun off turn four relinquishing sxith to Tommy Bailey while Trevor Sise would rebound to seventh after an early flat. The Hyperco Hard Charger Lenny Bates would take eighth with Steve Stollings and Brad Strugill taking ninth and tenth.
