Greenbush Race Park

Copp, Olson, Aberle and Weleski get GRP checkers

For the first time in nine years, this announcer/writer missed a race at the Greenbush Race Park, as I was attending my postponed 40 year high school reunion, so this will be short and sweet.

Brandon Copp made the tow all the way from Brule, WI and made his first ever visit to the Park payoff with a sweep in the Wissota Modifieds. Jordan Duray finished second and Aaron Holtan third.

The Wissota Midwest Mod feature came right down to the wire as Justin Olson beat Aaron Blacklance. Taylor Jacobson finished third. Heat wins to Jacobson and Blacklance.

I heard the Wissota Street feature was another close race as Daniel Aberle beat Aaron Blacklance and Tucker Pederson. The heat wins went to Aberle and Blacklance.

The Wissota Pure Stock feature win went to Deryk Weleski with Tra Ewalt finishing second and Michael Roth third. Macey Anderson got the lone heat win.

Dexter Dvergsten remained undefeated at the Park in the MinnKota POWRI Lightning Sprints. Dvergsten is also the first time winner of the Olson cup named in honor of Chad & Corey Olson, former Lightning Sprint drivers that have passed away.

The 4 Cylinder feature went to John Current with Kalin Honer second and Brandon Hunter third. Honer picked up the lone heat win.

Up next for the Greenbush Race Park, the NLRA Late Models will make their last visit of the season, and will be joined by the regular Wissota classes of Modifieds, Streets, Midwest Mods and Pure Stocks, along with the Outlaw Mini Mods. Pit Gates open at 4:30, Grandstands at 5:30, cutoff for the draw is at 6pm with the green flag dropping at 7pm sharp. For more info follow us on Facebook at Official Greenbush Race Park or on the web at http://www.greenbushracepark.com, and we hope to see you at the Park.
