Estenson Set to Capture First Career Sprint Car Championship

Inside Line Promotions – SPRINGFIELD, Neb. (Sept. 11, 2024) – Tim Estenson is closing in on his first career sprint car championship.

Estenson will head to Shelby County Speedway in Harlan, Iowa, this Saturday for the Midwest Sprint Touring Series 410 Sprint Cars season finale. He enters the race with a 28-point lead in the championship standings. With a maximum of 50 points up for grabs and a driver earning 25 points for taking a competitive green flag, all Estenson needs to do is start a heat race or the main event to secure the title.

“We’ve been pretty consistent all year and were able to get a win with the series,” he said. “It’ll be nice to know we just have to take a green flag, but also to go to a track where I won my biggest payday. So it’s a confidence boost to race at a place where we’ve had success.”

That takes the pressure off for Estenson, who was victorious during his most recent visit to Shelby County Speedway. He also posted results of fifth and 11th at the track last season.

Estenson has been consistent in the first full season for the Midwest Sprint Touring Series 410 Sprint Cars. He is tied for the series lead with a win and stands atop the series in top fives with four and top 10s with six during eight feature starts.

“I think last year I was a lot more aggressive,” he said. “This year I’ve been a little smarter than I was last year. With the success in the past I think a huge thing is confidence. I think we should be able to at least compete for a podium if not win it.”
