Cosner climbs to fifth in LOLMDS' Freedom 60; fourth in 4B4EVER 40
With inclement weather spoiling Friday’s Independence Day opener at Portsmouth (Ohio) Raceway Park, Matt Cosner followed the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) to Muskingum County Speedway (Zanesville, Ohio) on Saturday evening for the Freedom 60.
Amongst a stout field of 35 Super Late Models, Cosner timed in fourth-fastest in his time trial group before placing second in his heat race. Gunning for the $20,000 top prize in the main event, Matt muscled forward three positions in the 60-lap affair to register a fifth-place finish. He trailed Devin Moran, Ricky Thornton Jr., Max Blair, and Jonathan Davenport to the checkers.
For the fourth annual 4B4EVER 40 on Sunday at Brushcreek Motorsports Complex (Peebles, Ohio), Matt’s runner-up heat showing positioned him on the third row for the $10,000-to-win weekend finale. Finishing one spot better than Saturday’s performance, Cosner passed two cars in the 40-lap affair to finish fourth.
