July 2024 Power Rankings - WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds

We break down the results of the first month of racing at Lake of the Woods Speedway in the Power Rankings.

1st - #4B Brandon Rehill (+1) - St. Andrews, MB

Brandon's stellar performance of a second and a first during the two events in June catapults him to the top spot in the power rankings. He already has a firm grip on first in points with no sign of slowing down.

2nd - #17 Christopher Leek (+1) - Ste. Genevieve, MB

While Christopher hasn't challenged for a win in the first two races, a solid third place and fifth place shows enough consistency to slide him up a spot. Historically, he tends to struggle to start out the season, but usually improves after each showing.

3rd - #20 Nick Audette (-2) - St. Adolphe, MB

Nick has dropped from first to third so quickly due to his results. After winning his first feature in almost five years, he was unable to follow up. After starting second, he fell all the way to 10th. He forfeited the points lead and the power rankings as a result.

4th - #14 Edward Bell (unchanged) - Winnipeg, MB

A pair of 4th place finishes keeps Edward in the same spot for power rankings. He made a great recovery after restarting at the back due to an incident on June 16. If he continues to finish in the top 4 it will be difficult to keep him out of contention.

5th - #10D Patrick Davis (+2) - Sioux Lookout, ON

Patrick had a similar situation as Audette, with a good finish at opener (5th), but unable to capture the same result the following week due to damage. However, he moves up two positions on the power rankings, and he may quickly be in the hunt for a win.

6th - #38 Nick Hooper (unchanged) - Winnipeg, MB

Nick has been solid in his heat races, but struggling in the features. He is firmly entrenched in the sixth spot as a result but if he is able to make adjustments there is possibility of moving up.

7th - #3x Jesse Thompson (New) - Emo, Ontario

Jesse was not on the preseason power rankings, but with attendance in the first two events, he has placed himself in the seventh spot. It is hard to say where he might end up after two more events. He did struggle in week one, but was better the second week.

8th - #3H Keelan Hall (-3) - Kenora, ON

Keelan has dropped three positions mainly due to unable to start the main event on opener. However, he led over half of the June 16 feature and claimed second place. If he is able to make the majority of the season, he will likely move up the rankings.

9th - #18 Tim Wiebe (unchanged) - Vita, MB

Tim continues to place within the top ten of the power rankings and has shown continued improvement in speed and maneuvering.

10th - #97 Mark Earl (New) - Thunder Bay, ON

Despite intentions, Mark was unable to attend opener, but his finish on June 16 from 13th to 6th (claiming the Hard Charger award) in the feature pegs him on the board at the 10th spot. It is expected he will run the remaining season.
