Pair of top 10-finishes for Ward in Autumn Classic
As the calendar officially closed out summer over the weekend, Morgan Ward fittingly raced in the season-ending Autumn Classic at Watertown, South Dakota’s Casino Speedway.
When the seventh annual event kicked off on Friday at the quarter-mile oval, Ward was one of 15 WISSOTA Late Model drivers entered. She finished as runner-up in her heat race and started second in the 25-lap, $1,150-to-win feature. She started strong in the main event but ultimately suffered a DNF. However, she still recorded a 10tth-place finish.
For Saturday's finale, 13 WISSOTA Late Model teams were in the pit area seeking a $1,250 winner’s share. Ward won her heat and started third in the 25-lap A-Main. She came home in the eighth spot and closed out the season 10th in track points.
