Frederick Picks Up Third Victory at Dacotah Speedway
Outside pole sitter, Kelly Hoerner, grabbed the lead from pole sitter Nathan Messmer in the Jiffy Lube Multicare WISSOTA Street Stock feature. Behind Hoerner, it was a three car battle for second between Jason Berg, Geoff Hellman and points leader Zach Frederick. Hellman shuffled into second place as Berg and Frederick continued to battle for third. Hellman quickly caught Hoerner and they briefly door to door raced before Frederick made it a three car battle for the lead. Hellman cleared Hoerner for first before second place in the points standings, Shawn Volk, barrel rolled down the front stretch. Volk walked away from the vicious wreck but his night was done early. On the restart, Frederick passed Hoerner for second and quickly reeled in Hellman. Frederick, known for running around the bottom of the track, uncharacteristically challenged Hellman for the lead on the high side of the track. They raced side by side for several laps before Frederick cleared Hellman for the lead. Hellman stayed on Frederick’s bumper but could not find a way back around for the win. Zach Frederick extended his points lead as he picked up his third victory at Dacotah Speedway. Geoff Hellman had to settle for second as Kelly Hoerner finished a season best of third place. Wyatt Rath-Wald, who started 10th, finished fourth ahead of fifth place Matt Brendel.
