Looking back on the last 2 crazy years
Going into 2020-2021 Colt Johnson Racing Team was filled with excitement. For 2020 and 2021 CJR would like to thank all our sponsors, fans, friends, and family for all the support. COVID-19 struck the racing community hard and put a stop in the season but we were still pumped to get to racing when we were able to.
Entering 2020-2021 CJR had 3 cars in the race shop (Quarter Midget, Mini Outlaw, and a Bandelero) Now in 2022 that has grown to 4 cars.
In the USAC .25, Midget Colt took a break from these cars so he could focus more on his other 2 cars. He still raced some national and local races for fun but was not competing for a championship. He was shocked to still be able to finish 5th in his class.
In the Mini Outlaw dirt car Colt took home several podium positions. Unfortunatly due to covid restirctions the dirt track moved his division to Tuesday evenings for 20201-2021 season so when Summer Shootout started in June he was unable to finsh out the season in is dirt car as he was putting priority into his Bando at the time.
Finally the US Legends Car International/INEX Bandelero, Colt raced in the Bojangles Summer Shootout at Charlotte Motor Speedway and in the winter heat. He brought home many podium finishes and is ready to do it again.
This season (2022) you will see can Colt in 2 USAC .25 midgets as he races in the heavy 160 and the heavy Honda classes. You will also see him in his Bandelero as he races in the bandit class. This season Colt has decided to take a break from his Mini Outlaw dirt car to focus on his other 3 cars.
