Ashton Winger Rules Roscoe Smith Classic at Senoia Raceway
Georgia Native Collects $7,544 and Third Career Memorial Victory
HAMPTON, Ga. (07/21/25) – Ashton Winger emerged victorious in a thrilling, lead-swapping battle with Sam Seawright at Senoia Raceway on Thursday night, securing the Roscoe Smith Classic win in his Mathews Motorsports No. 12 Super K Express / Recreational Vehicle Select / Rocket Chassis / Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model.
The $7,544 payday marked Winger’s third career triumph in the memorial event (2025, 2023, 2021) and his second career victory with the Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals.
“I’m glad we’re able to keep winning these Roscoe Smith races,” Winger said. “The Smith family means so much to me, they do so much for me.”
Thursday’s event drew 33 Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals entries to the Georgia oval for Round 5 of the 14-race miniseries. Starting from the front row in the feature after a strong qualifying effort, Winger reclaimed the lead from Seawright on lap 41 and held on for the final four circuits to notch his second win of the season.
Continuing the weekend at Swainsboro Raceway on Friday, Winger backed up the third-fastest lap in his 17-car time trial group with a strong run from sixth to second in the 40-lap feature. He joined race-winner Cory Hedgecock and third-place finisher Dalton Cook on the podium.

Winger is set for a doubleheader in Alabama this weekend, beginning Friday at Penton Raceway with the Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series event. The Jeff Mathews Motorsports team will then head to East Alabama Motor Speedway on Saturday to chase another $10,000 winner’s purse at the Playground of Power.
