Satterlee secures Appalachian Mountain Speedweek title with $5,000 BAPS victory
Coming off a pair of wins in the opening week, Gregg Satterlee followed the Appalachian Mountain Speedweek (AMS) to Path Valley Speedway (Spring Run, Pa.) on Tuesday for the fourth round of the eight-race miniseries.
After a blistering 10.854-second lap in time trials earned him the overall fast time honors, Satterlee raced into the Tuesday's feature with a runner-up dash showing. Rolling to a steady podium finish in the 35-lap affair, Gregg started and finished third.
With another $5,000 Appalachian Mountain Speedweek payday up for grabs in Thursday’s stop at Selinsgrove Speedway (Selinsgrove, Pa.), Gregg inched forward one spot in the A-Main to register a third-place finish. He joined race-winner Rick Eckert and runner-up Coleby Frye on the podium.
Following Friday’s AMS rainout at Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pa.), Satterlee stormed into Saturday night’s $5,000-to-win feature at Lincoln Speedway (Abbottstown, Pa.) with a heat race triumph. Pinned on the fourth row, Gregg rolled to a consistent seventh-place finish.
Satterlee wrapped up the Appalachian Mountain Speedweek on Sunday with an impressive performance in the miniseries finale at BAPS Motor Speedway (York Haven, Pa.). After turning in the overall fastest time in qualifying, Gregg powered ahead of Dylan Yoder on the second lap of the feature and paced the remainder of the 35-lapper to capture his fourth win of the season and the AMS title in dominating fashion.
He pocketed the $5,000 finale ahead of Kyle Hardy, Dylan Yoder, Justin Weaver, and Gene Knaub.
