Gregg Satterlee
Top-10 finish in Melvin Joseph Memorial at Georgetown Speedway
Testing the waters with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) at Georgetown Speedway (Georgetown, Del.), Gregg Satterlee invaded the half-mile oval on Thursday afternoon for the rescheduled Melvin Joseph Memorial.
After an early rain shower put the program under delay, Satterlee raced into the $18,049-to-win A-Main with a second-place finish in his heat. Losing two spots in the 49-lap affair, Gregg recorded an eighth-place outing.
For the two-day Rumble by the River on Friday and Saturday at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.), Gregg’s fourth-place finish in his heat race pinned him on the sixth row for his preliminary feature on Friday. With $5,000 on the line, Satterlee faded to finish 18th.
On Saturday, Satterlee missed a transfer spot by one car in his heat, relegating him into a consolation race. Taking only the top-two, Gregg secured his spot into the $50,000-to-win Rumble by the River finale with an impressive sixth-to-second run. Starting the main event in 22nd, Satterlee capped off the three-day weekend by passing seven cars to place 15th.
