Gregg Satterlee
Florida Speedweeks brings Satterlee to East Bay
On Monday afternoon, Gregg Satterlee was one of 76 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries on hand at East Bay Raceway Park (Tampa, Fla.) for the opening round of the 45th annual Wrisco Winternationals. After failing to transfer out of his heat race, Satterlee logged a 21st place outing in his B-Main, forcing him to rely on a provisional into the opening night feature. The following night, Gregg secured his spot into the $5,000-to-win preliminary feature with a runner-up finish in his heat race behind Brandon Sheppard. Starting in 10th, Satterlee was caught behind a multi-car tangle on the opening lap that brought an immediate end to his evening.
For the third round of the Wrisco Winternationals on Wednesday, Satterlee followed up the 19th fastest time in his qualifying group with a sixth place finish in his heat. Needing to place second or better in his B-Main to make the A-Main, Gregg came one spot short with a third-place outing.
On Thursday night, Gregg laid down the second fastest lap in his time trial group before placing second in his heat behind Mason Zeigler. Starting the $7,000-to-win A-Main in 10th, Satterlee was an early retiree from the 40-lapper on lap 22.
In a field of 77 cars on Friday, Satterlee fell short of a transfer position in his heat race and B-Main, but was granted a provisional into the show. With $12,000 on the line, Gregg was the first retiree from the race on lap 27.
Wrapping up the 45th annual Wrisco Winternationals on Saturday, Gregg came one spot short of a transfer position in his heat with a fourth place finish, sending him into the B-Main. Streaking to a 10-lap consolation victory, Satterlee locked into the 20th-starting position for the $15,000-to-win finale. Improving one spot in the 50-lap affair, Gregg Satterlee registered a 19th-place outing.
