Robinson follows Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series to Volunteer State
DutchStar Motorsports and Ross Robinson returned with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) over the weekend for the two-day event at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.).
Drawing 42 Late Models on Friday for the Mountain Moonshine Classic opener, Robinson missed a transfer spot by one car in his B-Main with a fourth-place finish, forcing the use of a provisional. With a $10,000 preliminary payday up for grabs, Ross recorded a 22nd-place finish.
Back at the 3/8-mile oval on Saturday, Ross followed up a fifth-place heat outing with a runner-up showing in his B-Main. Locked on the 10th row for the $50,000-to-win Mountain Moonshine Classic main event, Robinson crossed the line in 20th in the 60-lapper.
