Amantea Records Top 10 at Greenwood Valley Action Tracks

Inside Line Promotions – ORANGEVILLE, Pa. (May 14, 2019) – Joey Amantea earned one top 10 and was on his way to another top five last Saturday at Greenwood Valley Action Tracks, which was the only race he got in out of four scheduled last week.
Amantea’s best result came in the non-wing division, in which he placed second in a heat race before finishing where he started – ninth – in the A Main. It marked his fifth top 10 of the season.
“I was loose the whole race and couldn’t really pass anyone,” he said. “I think I passed one car, but they got back around me.”
The night in the winged car was on pace for a stellar outing. Amantea finished third in a heat race and he lined up sixth for the main event.
“It was an awesome race,” he said. “We were four tenths off the track record. I was in fourth most of the race. I was getting huge runs on the top. I was about to get a huge run on third when two cars wrecked. I stopped to avoid it and that forced me to restart at the back.”
Unfortunately, a mechanical problem ended the night soon after the incident and Amantea was credited with a 15th-place result.
He is slated for four races again this week with action on Wednesday at Shellhammers Speedway in Shoemakersville, Pa.; on Friday at Linda’s Speedway in Jonestown, Pa.; on Saturday at Hamlin Speedway in Hamlin, Pa.; and on Sunday at Action Track USA in Kutztown, Pa.
“The good thing about having four races scheduled is that with Pennsylvania weather at least we should get one in,” he joked.
