Kirchoff and Smith Split Wild West Late Model Tour Wins at BMP Speedway; Lorenz, Wheeler, Fowler, Mass and Moore Also Victorious
Inside Line Promotions – BILLINGS, Mont. (July 3, 2017) – Eddie Kirchoff and David Smith split the Wild West Late Model Tour doubleheader at BMP Speedway last weekend.
Troy Lorenz, Dan Wheeler, Dwayne Fowler, Eric Mass and Shane Moore also visited Victory Lane. Additionally, Kirchoff swept the IMCA modifieds portion of the event to end the weekend with three wins.
Action began on Friday when Kirchoff charged from seventh to claim the opening round of the Wild West Late Model Tour. Jim Harris finished in the runner-up position with Kelly Hample, who entered the event undefeated at BMP Speedway this season, charging from 12th to third place. Chris Dunn placed fourth and Jason Schierkolk advanced from 14th to fifth place.
Kirchoff was also victorious in the IMCA modifieds main event after starting fifth. Kenny Baumann maneuvered to a second-place finish with Roy Spielman ending third, Travis Davis fourth and Mitch Ferguson fifth.
Lorenz held off fifth-starting Devin Kenaston to capture the WISSOTA street stocks main event on Friday. Grant Gary placed third with David Gleaton fourth and Bob Gordon fifth.
Wheeler scored his first WISSOTA midwest modifieds win of the season at BMP Speedway. Dayne Kocher, Rod Lorenz, Eric Mass and Keaton Lorenz rounded out the top five, respectively.
Saturday’s program continued to showcase stellar racing as five classes converged upon the 3/8-mile oval.
Smith outlasted ninth-starting Rayce McCord to garner the Wild West Late Model Tour triumph. Dunn rounded out the podium with Hample placing fourth and Eric Mass fifth.
Fowler recorded a WISSOTA street stocks win with Cory Craver maneuvering from seventh to second place. Kenneth Hunter ended third with Kenaston advancing from 10th to fourth. Robert Petroff placed fifth.
Mass powered from seventh to claim the WISSOTA midwest modifieds A Main. Wheeler advanced from eighth to second place with Rod Lorenz, 10th-starting Keaton Lorenz and John Miner rounding out the top five, respectively.
Moore earned his first career Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series victory at BMP Speedway as the newly formed class featured a season high number of entries. Robert DeHaan finished second with Lance DeHaan third, Bill Carey fourth and John Hurd fifth.
Kirchoff capped the weekend with another trip into the Winner’s Circle as he drove to his second straight IMCA modifieds main event triumph. Jeremy Meirhofer, Kory Wermling, Mark Wermling and Ty Clemens finished second through fifth, respectively.
BMP Speedway welcomes WISSOTA late models, WISSOTA street stocks, WISSOTA super stocks and WISSOTA midwest modifieds next Saturday.
