Inside Line Promotions – JACKSON, Minn. (July 9, 2016) – Nate Coopman put his name in the record book on Saturday during Bank Midwest Night at Jackson Motorplex.

Coopman recorded his seventh straight feature victory at the half-mile oval to become the first driver to achieve that feat.

Additionally, Matthew Looft picked up his third win of the season and Jim Larson his second with Roger Nielsen and Chad Lonneman reaching Victory Lane for the first time this year at Jackson Motorplex.

Coopman didn’t have an easy run in the Boji Bay Water Park IMCA Sport Compacts main event, which was eight laps and lined him up on the inside of the fourth row. However, he maneuvered through the field and into the lead by Lap 3 en route to the historic triumph.

Neil Forsburg finished second with Jay Devries, Kaytee Devries and Scott Espey rounding out the top five, respectively.

Looft charged from 11th to claim the Bohl’s Small Engine & Marine IMCA Sport Mods feature and extend his points lead in the class with 10th-starting Jason Andrews rallying for a runner-up result. Lyle Sathoff placed third, Dan Paplow fourth and Randy Winter fifth.

Larson maneuvered from fourth to capture the After Hours Graphics & Tees IMCA Stock Cars main event. Gary Mattison ended second, Levi Feltman third, Luke Sathoff fourth and Justin Nehring fifth. Larson and Sathoff are now tied atop the championship standings.

Nielsen held off Brandon Beckendorf for the Wilmont Oil IMCA A-Mods feature victory. Beckendorf, who won three straight races entering Saturday, advanced from eighth. Justin Anderson placed third, 10th-starting James Slawson fourth and points leader Don Gerritsen Jr. charged from 12th to fifth.

Lonneman powered from 10th to garner the Minnesota West – Jackson Campus IMCA Hobby Stocks triumph and halt Justin Luinenburg’s opportunity to join Coopman in the record books with seven straight victories. Luinenburg settled for second place with Austin Jahnz third, Ernie Dailey fourth and Nick Schilling fifth.

Racing will return to Jackson Motorplex next weekend with another doubleheader featuring double Last-Deck® 360 Sprint Cars main events as well as Liquid Nitro IMCA 305 Sprint Cars and Heartland Racing Association non-wing sprints on Friday and the regular Saturday IMCA program.
