Kolby Vandenbergh attends Show-Me 100 at Lucas Oil Speedway
Thursday night saw Kolby Vandenbergh return with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals at Spoon River Speedway (Banner, Ill.) for the fifth stop of the Hell Tour. Scoring a third place finish in his heat race, Kolby locked into the 10th-starting position for the opening night feature. With $5,000 on the line, Vandenbergh dropped four spots to place 14th. The following night at Tri-City Speedway (Granite City, Ill.) for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned NAPA Know How 50, Vandenbergh topped the 39-car field in time trials to capture the Slick Mist Fast Time Award. Coming in third in his heat, Kolby locked into the ninth-starting position for the $12,000-to-win A-Main. Running into trouble near the halfway point, Vandenbergh was an early retiree from the 50-lapper on lap 23.
On Saturday afternoon at Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) for the 28th annual Show-Me 100 presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com, Kolby followed up the fourth fastest time in his group with a third place finish in his heat. Rolling off 12th for the $20,000-to-win A-Main, Vandenbergh withdrew from the 100-lapper on lap 37.
