Patrik Daniel Competes at the Dome
Patrik Daniel made his annual trek north to the Dome at America's Center (St. Louis, Mo.) for the Castrol Gateway Dirt Nationals presented by O'Reilly Auto Parts.
A staggering 127 Super Late Model entries were on hand for the weekend's festivities. Patrik's qualifying night came to life on Friday. After qualifying 19th fastest in his group he charged from seventh-to-third in his heat race.
Missing the transfer to the feature by a single spot, Daniel started on pole for a B-Main, but battled handling issues late in the race to a fifth-place finish as his night came to an early end.
Via his preliminary night performance he was seeded seventh on the starting grid for a qualifier. He raced to a third-place finish in his qualifier, which again left him one spot out of a feature transfer. With more chance to race into the mega finale, Patrik was only able to manage a third-place finish in the Last Chance Qualifier as his night and weekend came to an early end.
