Austin Theiss returns with a pair of Top-5 finishes at Tri-State
Austin Theiss returned to the driver’s seat of his LT Munitions No. 7 Late Model on Friday night at Thunderbird Speedway (Muskogee, Okla.) for the doubleheader weekend with the Complete Well Testing Soon Series.
Drawing 24 Late Models for the $2,000-to-win opener, Austin’s seventh-to-third run in his heat placed him on the pole for the feature. Fading four spots in the 20-lap affair, Theiss crossed the line in sixth.
The following night at Tri-State Speedway (Pocola, Okla.), Theiss secured his spot into the finale with a fourth-place finish in his heat. With $2,000 on the line, Austin marched through the field seven positions to register a fifth-place finish. He trailed Cole Wells, Cody Leonard, Kip Hughes, and Brett Hansen to the checkers.
