Hedgecock pilots Rauen Racing No. 98 at Knoxville
Climbing behind the wheel of the Jason Rauen-owned No. 98 BMF Race Cars Late Model for the 19th running of the Knoxville Nationals, Cory Hedgecock invaded Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa) on Thursday evening to kick off the three-day event.
Amongst a field of 40 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries, Hedgecock slipped over the cushion while running in a transfer spot in his B-Main that brought an early end to his night.
For Friday’s preliminary event, Cory raced his way into the final $7,000-to-win preliminary feature with a fourth-place run in his heat. Muscling forward two spots in the 25-lap affair, Hedgecock posted a 17th-place finish.
Sitting 24th overall in preliminary points based on results from Thursday and Friday, Hedgecock had already secured his spot into Saturday's $50,000-to-win Lucas Oil Knoxville Nationals finale. Rolling off on the 12th row, Cory's night was over after getting collected in a four-car pileup on lap 40.
