Cory Hedgecock visits Eldora Speedway for World 100 weekend
Taking part in the 53rd running of the annual World 100 weekend, Cory Hedgecock unloaded his BMF Race Car No. 23 Late Model at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Thursday afternoon to kick off the three-day event.
With the 102-car field divided into two groups, Hedgecock edged into his preliminary feature with a second-place finish in his B-Main after missing a transfer spot in his heat. Chasing a $12,000 payday, Cory gained three spots to finish 20th.
For another round of $12,000-to-win prelims on Friday, Cory’s 11th-place result in his heat dropped him into a B-Main. Sending only the top-two into the show, Hedgecock went 12th-to-8th, bringing an early end to his night.
Pinned on the sixth row of his heat on Saturday based on Eldora’s Every Lap Matters format, Cory revived his chances of making the $56,000-to-win World 100 finale with a 12th-to-7th run. After an officiating error granted him a starting spot into the main event, Hedgecock completed 37 circuits before pulling in. He was scored 27th in the final rundown.
