Hedgecock defends CRUSA Winter Shootout title with Sweetheart win at 411

Cory Hedgecock continued his early season speed with a $3,023 victory on Saturday in 411 Motor Speedway’s Sweetheart with his W.E. Hardscapes & Masonry / Noble Knights Construction Services / No. 23 Currin Construction / BMF Race Car / Eagle Racing Engine Super Late Model.

His second win of the season also clinched Cory’s second-straight Crate Racin’ USA Winter Shootout Series title.

“We set fast time and after a really good battle with Hayden Cardwell, we were able to steal the top spot and get the win. We were also able to wrap up the (Crate Racin’ USA) Winter Series title by over 30 points in a short series,” Hedgecock shared. “We’re going to be building new BMF Race Cars in the shop this week and next, before getting back in the driver’s seat at Smoky Mountain (Speedway) on March 3-4.”

To wrap up the Crate Racin’ USA Winter Shootout Series, Cory Hedgecock made the short trip to 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tenn.) on Saturday afternoon to pilot his Noble Knights Construction Services No. 23 BMF Race Car Late Model in the annual Sweetheart.

With time trials setting the grid for the A-Main, Hedgecock topped the 38-car field with a 14.476-second qualifying lap. Wrestling the lead away from fellow front-row starter Hayden Cardwell on lap 31, Cory led the remainder of the 40-lapper to claim his second win of the season and second-straight Winter Shootout Series title.

He bagged a $3,023 payday ahead of Cardwell, Jason Welshan, Mack McCarter, and Rusty Ballenger.
