US 36 Raceway Prepares for Jam-Packed May Schedule

(OSBORN, Mo.) – As temperatures continue to heat up as the summer months approach, so will the racing action at US 36 Raceway. Sprint Car fans, Modified fans, and full fender fans will all have something to look forward to in May.

The first race in May, Friday May 3, will see the continuation of the Season Championship. It will mark race number four on the schedule for championship competitors. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Winged Sprints, IMCA Stock Cars and E-Modifieds will all return to the high banks after having a week off for the ASCS National Tour event. IMCA Sport Mods are also on the card for the night. The Pure Stocks will have the night off.

Taking a look into the early season point battles, all classes sit within a few points of each other. Steven Bowers Jr. sits atop the IMCA Modified standings. Clay Hale and Tyler Hibner are both a single point out of the points lead. Chad Clancy sits just two points back after winning two weeks ago. The IMCA Winged Sprints have a tie for the early points lead between Mike Houseman Jr. and Matt Richards. Mike Moore is two markers back in third. Blake Peeler holds a one-point lead over Lance Dixon in IMCA Stock Cars, with Carson Masoner sitting two points back in third. Steven Clancy holds the largest points lead of anybody in the IMCA Sport Mods, as he has a 11-point cushion over Randy Smith Jr. Gary Ainsworth holds a four-point lead over Kyle Russell in E-Modifieds and Connor Masoner has a seven-point gap to Tyler Starmer in Pure Stocks.

After a week of returning to the season championship, May 10 marks the second sprint car special of the season presented by Bill’s Camper Sales. The ASCS Warrior Region will make their second trip to the speedway this season, two weeks after running with the ASCS National Tour. The Sprint Series of Nebraska will make their debut on the high banks as well. The IMCA Stock Cars and Pure Stocks will also race this night. Stock Cars and Pure Stock will be racing for track points.

May 17 is all about the Pure Stocks as they prepare for the Pure Stock Shootout. The Pure Stocks will race for $400 to win and $75 to start. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Winged Sprints, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Sport Mods and E-Modifieds are also racing.

The following week, May 24, it’s the Modifieds turn under the spotlight for Modified Madness presented by St. Joseph Beverage. The IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Mods and E-Modifieds all battle for open wheel supremacy. Big money is on the line as all three modified classes will be racing for an increased payout. IMCA Modifieds will battle for $1200 to win and $150 to start. The IMCA Sport Mods have $500 on the line for the checkered flag and $85 to start. The E-Modifieds are $400 and $75 to start. Pure Stocks are also on the card for the night.

For the final date in May, May 31, things do not slow down one bit for US 36 Raceway. Non-Wing Sprints will make their first appearance in 2019 on the high banks for the second Sprint Car Special during the month. The Iowa Sprint Car League will make their first visit to the

speedway in their inaugural season. The IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Winged Sprints, IMCA Stock Cars, IMCA Sport Mods, E-Modifieds and Pure Stocks are all racing as well.

US 36 Raceway is exciting to offer a variety of different featured events in May and hopes to see everyone at the track during the next five weeks. All events feature the same time schedule, as pits open at 5 p.m., grandstands at 6 p.m., hot laps at 7:30 p.m. and racing at 8 p.m.
