Ben Hur Speedway 6/10

We traveled up the road to Ben Hur Speedway again this past Saturday 6/10. The struggle this season has been finding speed on this big track. Having raced mostly on small 1/8 & 1/10 mile tracks the transition to the 1/3 mile Ben Hur triangle has been a bit of a struggle. Making a lot of changes on the kart since the last week seems to have paid off. I started P3 in the heat and lead going into turn 1. I lead about half of the heat before slipping up out of the groove coming out of turn 4 and was not able to get back around the leader. I lined up P2 for the feature and in the drag race to turn 1 I was able to come out with the lead. I again lead almost half the race and slipped a couple times in a huge hole in turns 1&2 and dropped to P2. I was able to run with the leader and get close enough he could see my shadow in turns 1 & 2 but was not able to get back past. I ended up P2. I was overall happy with how the night went and learned a lot with the changes that I made.

Next weekend 6/17 I will be traveling to Rockport Raceway where I have experienced a decent amount of success and am usually pretty quick. With the recent changes I made for Ben Hur I believe I will have a good package to take down and give the locals a run for their money.
