2017 IMCA Modified Racing Season

Less than a week away from the start of the 2017 racing season. Got our feet wet just enough last year to know that we are gonna have our work cut out for us but we are also gonna have a lot of fun this coming season. I have some season goals cause that's what helps me to stay focused and work towards something but in all honesty, this season is to learn as much as we can. I'm lucky to have a job where I can be around racing and most importantly, the people that know all about it and then I go to the shop and I have the best engine builder that I also get to call Dad so we are one step ahead of some, I just have to figure out what to do with it, Johnny Saathoff at Jet Racing helps me out a ton and I can ask him so many things but I have to thank Mike Gocke for his help and advice and allowing me to reach out to him when I have questions and I can guarantee I will be calling. I was in the right place at the right time apparently and was contacted by Thirty-Two Designs out of Kansas City for a sponsorship of a wrap, super excited to see what they have came up for me, hint, its gonna be some green!! Couldn't be happier to be working with these guys. I also have most all of my same sponsors back again this year, some of them have been with Dad and I for quite a few years and it means a lot to him as well as myself. These jumps in classes I've made the last few seasons have added to the cost of my racing and my sponsors have taken the jump with me, that is very humbling for them to believe in me and my racing and my Dads abilities as well, he built my 1st sport mod engine last year and I think its fair to say it proved itself pretty darn good and we have our 1st Modified engine ready to go as well and I have all the faith I need. We are #OpenMotor guys and we have our own reasons that are probably different that some of the others in this open vs crate engine debate, but the bottom line is, we started with an open motor and we are gonna finish our careers with one, all the great companies in the engine building business are the one and only reason why, they were there when this sport started and deserve to be here now.
Applied for a, you have to see it to believe it, trailer sponsorship from In-Tech Trailers, wont know til the end of the month if we have a shot but as they say, you don't give it a try, you cant have a shot and that's how all of our sponsorship's started out, with a app or a letter, so we will see.
Sponsorship appreciation party for the sponsors, crew, family and friends is this Saturday night at the Armstrong shop, we'd love to see as many of you as possible. Put together something for the crew and sponsors that sums up our season last year. Mailed all the rest out to all those far away.
Plan is to get the wrap on tonight if at all possible. Next weekend starts our season in Abilene Texas, I really need to shake the bugs out this year, I have always enjoyed racing this event and look forward to seeing the red dirt soon.
Thank you again to everyone for all your help and support, been a crazy winter and darn it goes too fast, been working on the race car, building lots of cars for Jet Racing but most importantly, been working on my relationship with my sons Mom, that's been the most important thing. Think I have finally grown up and seen what I wasn't seeing. Looking forward to racing with Layne AND Calleen. Stay tuned for our 2017 car, its gonna be a dandy, Adam
