Pair of Top-10 finishes at North Alabama and Talladega with Valvoline Iron-Man Series
After a couple weekends away from the racetrack, Will Roland made a start with the Valvoline Iron-Man Southern Series on Friday afternoon at North Alabama Speedway (Tuscumbia, Ala.) for the Road to 'Dega 40.
Locking in the Top-10 in qualifying, Roland missed the cutoff by one but was able to earn an A-Main spot after a runner-up finish in his B-Main. For the $5,000-to-win feature, Will rolled through the 40-lap event to finish just inside the Top-10 in 10th.
With the Iron-Man field elevated to 36 Late Models on Saturday at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.), Will made the feature event after winning his B-Main which placed him in the 17th-starting position. Charging through the field in the 50-lap main event, Roland landed in the eighth-position.
