Roland climbs to second in Southern Nationals point standings

Will Roland returned with the Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals on Tuesday afternoon for the fourth round of the 12-race tour at I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tenn.). (Rick Neff photo)

Starting the feature in fourth via his qualifying time, Roland carried a steady pace in the 40-lapper to register a fourth-place finish.

On Thursday afternoon at Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Ga.), Will gained one spot in the 40-lap feature to finish third. He followed Carson Ferguson and Tyler Millwood to the checkers.

With Mother Nature winning on Friday at East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Ala.), Roland headed to Screven Motor Speedway (Sylvania, Ga.) on Saturday for the annual Rebel Yell. With an early exit in his heat race burying him on the tail of the feature, Will advanced forward 13 spots in the 53-lap affair to place 11th.

Sunday’s event at Swainsboro Raceway (Swainsboro, Ga.) fell victim to Mother Nature.

Will has climbed to second in the latest in the Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals point standings.
