Inside Line Promotions – LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (July 1, 2020) – Good finishes breed confidence and lead to more positive results.

Since Garet Williamson recorded his first career sprint car win in early June, the Missouri driver has showcased speed and logged consistent runs. That continued last week when the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour continued its 2020 season after more than a three-month delay.

Williamson kicked off the week with a career-best ASCS National Tour finish last Thursday at Caney Valley Speedway in Caney, Kan., where he produced a sixth-place run. He followed it up with another sixth-place finish on Saturday at I-30 Speedway.

“I’m definitely pumped, especially getting two top 10s with the national guys this weekend to help out in points,” he said. “I think it’s a confidence thing.

“Getting to run around home at some local shows and get our confidence boosted, it’s helped us figure some things out and get comfortable. It’s helped us get better on the ASCS National Tour.”

The Bryant Paver Motorsports driver started off his night at Caney Valley Speedway by advancing from fourth to second in his heat race. He started sixth in the feature and maintained that spot throughout the 30-lap affair.

More impressive was Williamson’s run two days later at I-30 Speedway. After finishing third in his heat race and fourth in a qualifier, the 20-year-old upstart charged from 12th to sixth in the main event.

“It was super important,” Williamson said. “It shows it wasn’t a fluke or that we got lucky. We’re there because we are a good car and we can run consistently.”

Williamson will take a weekend off from 360 competition and return to his roots in a micro sprint this Thursday through Saturday at Sweet Springs Motorsports Complex in Sweet Springs, Mo., during the $20,000-to-win John Hinck Championship.

“I’m super pumped,” he said. “We grew up running a micro and it’s always fun to get back in one. Hopefully, we don’t have too many sprint car habits and we should be pretty good.

“With the sprint car being so much faster and having so much power, it will make everything feel so much slower. It’s totally different cars so we will adjust and hopefully do well.”
