Fourth-place finish in Quad Cities 150 prelim at Davenport Speedway
Nick Hoffman was pulling double duty over the weekend at Davenport Speedway (Davenport, Iowa) as the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series and Xtreme Outlaw Series invaded the Iowa oval for the My Place Hotels Quad Cities 150.
With only Late Model action on tap on Thursday, Hoffman locked his spot into $10,000-to-win preliminary feature with a second-place finish in his heat. Pulling the fifth-starting position for the redraw, Nick clawed forward one spot in the 35-lapper to register a fourth-place finish. He trailed Bobby Pierce, Dennis Erb Jr., and Brandon Sheppard to the checkers with Kyle Bronson coming in fifth.
On Friday, Nick posted a third-place finish in his Late Model heat while an eighth-place finish in the Midget heat ranks pinned him on the eighth row for the A-Main. He crossed the line in 12th in the World of Outlaws feature but battled mechanical issues in the Midget that saw him retire on the 14th circuit.
With the Midget sidelined by lingering issues on Saturday, Hoffman raced his way into the $30,000-to-win My Place Hotels Quad Cities 150 finale with a runner-up showing in his heat. Rolling off fifth, Nick rallied to finish 16th in the 80-lap affair after slowing on lap 13.
Nick sits seventh in the latest World of Outlaw point standings.
