Nick Hoffman banks $7,500 Summer Shootout at Atomic Speedway

Nick Hoffman parked his Tye Twarog Racing / NOS Energy Drink No. 9 C&W Trucking / Longhorn Chassis / Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model in Victory Lane on Saturday night at Atomic Speedway.

His first career Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series victory was worth $7,500 and marked his third overall triumph of the season.

“We had a great car all weekend. We came up one spot short on Friday night at Moler [Raceway Park], but got the job done on Saturday at Atomic [Speedway]. The made the right adjustments for the feature on Saturday. The track locked down before halfway so it was important to not make any mistakes and miss the rubber,” Hoffman said.

“We drove home all night and got home at 7 a.m. Sunday morning to get the car ready for Fairbury [Speedway] this week. We are pumped for the Prairie Dirt Classic. It’s always a blast to go there. Thanks to everyone that makes this program possible.”

Kicking off a pair of events in The Buckeye State, Nick Hoffman took his Tye Twarog Racing No. 9 Late Model into battle at Moler Raceway Park (Williamsburg, Ohio) on Friday afternoon for the Dustbuster 40.

Drawing 46 Late Models for the unsanctioned event, Hoffman claimed the fast time honors in time trials with a blazing 12.903-second lap before placing first in his heat race.

Starting the $6,000-to-win A-Main in fourth, Nick gained two positions in the 40-lap affair to register a second-place finish. He chased race-long pacesetter Josh Rice to the checkers with Zack Dohm rounding out the podium.

For the Valvoline Iron-Man Northern Series-sanctioned Summer Shootout on Saturday at Atomic Speedway (Alma, OH), Nick followed up the second-fastest qualifying effort with an eight-lap heat race victory.

Earning the second-starting position for the feature, Hoffman soared into the lead on the drop of the green flag and led flag-to-flag in the 40-lapper to claim his third win of the season and $7,500 payday.

He finished 0.695-seconds ahead of Josh Rice with Doug Drown, Zack Dohm, and Seth Daniels completing the top-five finishers.

Hoffman resumes action with the World of Outlaws (WoO) Case Late Model Series on Friday and Saturday with the 2023 running of the Prairie Dirt Classic. The field will be divided into $5,000-to-win qualifying features on Friday followed by a $50,000-to-win finale on Saturday, which includes a $500 bonus for each lap led.

Nick is currently fourth in the latest WoO standings and continues to lead the WoO Rookie of the Year battle.
