Hoffman finishes 13th in Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora
Nick Hoffman unloaded his Tye Twarog Racing No. 9 Late Model at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on Thursday afternoon to compete in the 29th running of the Dirt Late Model Dream.
With the massive 95-car field divided into two groups, Hoffman topped his 47-car field in time trials but shredded a tire in his heat while running second that relegated him into a consolation. Pinned on the fifth row, Nick raced his way into the show with an impressive ninth-to-first run. Starting the 25-lap feature in 21st, Hoffman improved eight positions to finish 13th.
For another round of prelims on Friday, Nick followed up the eighth-fastest lap in his time trial group with a runner-up finish in his heat. With $12,000 on the line in his preliminary feature, Hoffman clawed forward one spot to register a seventh-place finish.
On Saturday, Hoffman missed a transfer spot by one car in his heat with a fourth-place finish, transferring him into a B-Main. Needing to place second or better to make the $129,000-to-win Dirt Late Model Dream finale, Nick outran Tanner English to pick up the 20-lap consolation victory. Rolling off 22nd for the main event, Hoffman capped off the solid weekend with a charge up to 13th in the 100-lapper.
