Erb marches to runner-up finish at 300 Raceway

Tyler Erb returned with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) on Friday afternoon as the series invaded the Hawkeye State for the Truck Country 50 at 300 Raceway (Farley, Iowa). With 28 Late Models entered, Tyler scored a third-place finish in his heat race, which positioned him 11th on the starting grid for the A-Main. With $12,000 on the line, Erb marched forward nine spots in the 50-lap affair to register a runner-up finish behind Mike Marlar. After Saturday’s LOLMDS stop at 34 Raceway (Burlington, Iowa) was rained out, Erb headed to East Moline Speedway (East Moline, Ill.) on Sunday to pilot the Doug Curless-owned No. 99 Late Model. Following a third-place finish in his heat race, Tyler charged from his ninth-starting position in the feature to steal the lead the lead with two laps remaining. After crossing the line in 1st, officials revoked his win after he failed to have an IMCA license.

Tyler is currently tied for fourth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
