Runner-up finish in Castrol lid-lifter at Tyler County

Taking part in the inaugural Castrol FloRacing Night in America, Best Performance Motorsports pilot Tyler Erb traveled to Tyler County Speedway (Middlebourne, W.Va.) on Thursday afternoon for the $10,000 prize. In a field of 29 cars, Tyler clocked in 10th fastest overall before placing second in his heat behind Jacob Hawkins. Making a late-race charge for the lead against race-long pacesetter Jonathan Davenport in the feature, Erb fell 0.681 seconds short at the line to place second, trailing Davenport to the checkers with Kyle Larson, Mason Zeigler, and Jacob Hawkins rounding out the Top-5. On Saturday at Hagerstown Speedway (Hagerstown, Md.) for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) sanctioned Red Nininger Tribute, Erb posted a runner-up finish in his heat behind Ricky Thornton Jr., which positioned him sixth on the starting grid for the $15,000-to-win A-Main. Improving one spot in the 50-lap affair, Tyler notched a fifth-place finish. He followed Tim McCreadie, Thornton Jr., Jonathan Davenport, and Gregg Satterlee across the line.

The following night at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.), Tyler edged his way into the finale with the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat race. With $10,000 on the line, Erb jumped up one spot in the 40-lapper to finish 14th.

Tyler is currently 10th in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
