Shane Clanton bags Top-5 finish at PRP

On Friday afternoon Shane Clanton followed the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) to Ponderosa Speedway (Junction City, Ky.) for the 16th annual John Bradshaw Memorial. In a field of 30 cars, Clanton posted a third place finish in his heat race, which positioned him ninth on the starting grid for the opening night. With $12,000 on the line, Shane suffered a flat tire in the final five laps that dropped him back to a 19th place outing after visiting the infield hot-pit for a replacement.

The following night at Portsmouth Raceway Park (Portsmouth, Ohio) for the Bob Miller Memorial River Days Rumble 50, Shane laid down the fifth fastest time in his qualifying group before placing third in his heat. Starting the $12,000-to-win A-Main in ninth, Clanton clawed forward four spots in the 50-lapper to register a fifth place finish behind Hudson O’Neal, Jimmy Owens, Tanner English, and Jared Hawkins. Shane is currently in sixth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
