TRG-AMR DEFIES ALL ODDS, 007 CLAIMS SECOND CONSECUTIVE GTD POLE AT VIR AFTER GRUELING REBUILD EFFORT

Alton, VA (August 22nd, 2014)- TRG-AMR Team Driver duo James Davison and Al Carter secured the pole position at VIR today – their second consecutive – in an incredible underdog story of perseverance and dedication as the crew performed an overnight build of an entirely new car after receiving a spare chassis from England just days ago. Quit isn’t a word in the
TRG-AMR vocabulary, and they were able to turn the bare tub into a pole-winning racecar in record time.

Following contact during a practice session in the previous round of TUDOR competition at Road America, TRG-AMR’s first 2014 IMSA GTD pole position was snatched away by an avoidable incident with a Mazda prototype.

The No. 007 CarryOn.com/B+ Foundation/Jetset Magazine/Eagle Tech Systems /Sideskinz/Adobe Road Winery/Royal Purple/Monument Chemicals Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3, set the pole with a lap time of 1:47.660 (109.344 MPH) around the 3.27 mile road course and marks the second Pole Position for the TRG-AMR duo this year.

Al Carter, TRG-AMR Team Driver, TUSCC GTD: “Words are escaping me right now – the wave of emotions I’ve ridden over the past couple of weeks has been crazy. Taking our first pole in the GT3 at Road America put me on cloud nine. Then to have it ripped out from under me the next morning was devastating. I’ve watched the trials and tribulations that the crew have gone through to get this car in good shape for James and I – it’s really incredible. It’s obvious why TRG and Kevin have their record – they’re incredible at what they do. I’m glad we pulled this off for the team – they deserve it. Looking forward to the race tomorrow!”
James Davison, TRG-AMR Team Driver, TUSCC GTD: “This is incredible – my hat goes off to the team for the amount of work they put in to get us here. I’m incredibly happy with the pole for personal reasons, but also because of the effort everyone put in to make this happen, and especially for Al. He’s been an amazing co-driver all season long. I’m glad I was able to contribute my part and help make this happen for the team!”

Kevin Buckler, CEO, TRG-AMR North America: “Moving forward from Road America was tough, but it showed us and the rest of the paddock that we have the speed to sit at the top of the timesheets. It’s been a wild ride this past couple of weeks – Road America, running six cars at the Pirelli World Challenge Sonoma race, being here at VIR and our upcoming Aston Martin Motorsports Festival at Laguna Seca – we’re busy, but busy is good. Al and James are ready for redemption on the GTD side of the house, while Max and Kris are ready to perform in Conti. They have been awesome together all year and it’s just a matter of time until they put together the win. The competition this season has been tough, but through our poles, wins, and overall pace, we’ve shown what these amazing Astons and our drivers can really do. We’re going to fight for the rest of the season like it’s Daytona. We will be relentless!”
