Thompson claims podium result at RPM Speedway
Cody Thompson traveled to Rolling Plains Motor Speedway (Hays, Kansas) over the weekend to compete in the IMCA Modified portion of the 17th annual Fall Nationals. His Dakota Coating Solutions No. 25c ride was one of 35 Modifieds at the 3/8-mile track better known as RPM Speedway.
During the event’s first evening of competition on Friday, Thompson won his heat race and turned in a runner-up finish in his qualifier.
The next night, Thompson started the 40-lap, $5,000-to-win Championship Feature from sixth and moved into third on the first lap. He maintained that position throughout the race to claim the final spot on the podium with a third-place result.
Thompson chased Jordan Grabouski and Dakota Sproul under the checkered flag, while Jeremy Frenier finished fourth and Eddie Belec came home fifth.
