Thompson Returns to Action at Deer Creek

For the first time in almost a month, Cody returned to action on Saturday night as he trekked to Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minn.) for the USRA Modified portion of the NAPA Auto Parts Gopher 50.

Thirty-nine competitors entered the event, and a heat race win earned him the pole position for the night's feature. Unfortunately, Thompson wouldn't get a good start to the feature, losing six laps on the opening circuit. Despite battling handling issues, he raced in Top 10 for much of the feature before ultimately crossing the finish line in 11th.
