Thompson Wins at Wagner; Adds Pair of Podiums at Park Jefferson & Raceway Park
Cody Thompson enjoyed a great weekend in his Maaske Motorsports No. 25c Team Harris Auto Racing IMCA Modified over the weekend in South Dakota.
Action kicked off on Friday night at Wagner (S.D.) Speedway, where Cody won his heat race from the third-starting position, which sent him to the main event, where he started seventh.
He charged to the triumph in the 15-lap feature, which marked his sixth of the year. He was followed across the finish line by Bob Moore, Ricky Stephan, Jim Cole, and Jim Mathieson.
Saturday night took Thompson to Park Jefferson (S.D.) International Speedway, where 14 IMCA Modifieds registered for competition. He started fifth in his heat race and passed three drivers to finish second.
In the 20-lap finale Thompson started sixth before advancing to a runner-up finish behind Chris Mills with Shane DeMey, Jacob Hobscheidt, and Anthony Roth rounding out the Top-5 finishers.
The triple header weekend drew to a close on Sunday night at Raceway Park (Jefferson, S.D.). In the 16-car field, Thompson earned the 10th-starting spot for the feature on the heels of a fifth-place run in his heat race.
He advanced seven spots in the feature to claim a third-place finish, which marked his third podium finish of the weekend.
