Rodney Sanders records runner-up result in All-American finale
On Friday and Saturday, the state-of-the-art Arrowhead Speedway in Colcord, Oklahoma, hosted the second annual ARMI Contractors All-American. Rodney Sanders was in attendance for both nights of the USRA Modified event and came ever so close to victory lane on Saturday evening in his ARMI Contractors No. 20 machine.
Nearly 30 Modified drivers participated in both complete shows at the 1/3-mile oval, where a $5,000 first-place winner’s check was up for grabs in each A-Main.
Friday saw Sanders finish sixth in his heat race, then fade from his 13th starting spot to finish 16th in the 40-lap main event.
However, his luck changed on Saturday, beginning with a second-place showing in his heat. He then rolled off from the seventh starting position in the 40-lap feature and came home in the runner-up spot, taking the checkered flag 0.902 seconds behind winner Cade Dillard. Trevor Hughes, Jesse Stovall and Brandon Givens completed the top five.
