Hill Happy to Return to Racing This Weekend at Devil’s Bowl for Winter Nationals

Inside Line Promotions – SIX NATIONS, Ontario, Canada (Oct. 17, 2017) – Alex Hill is looking forward to racing this weekend at the 44th annual Winter Nationals at Devil’s Bowl Speedway, which is a track that holds fond memories for her.

It was almost exactly two years ago that Hill, then 15-years-old, ventured to the half-mile oval in Mesquite, Texas, for the first time to race far from her home in Canada. It marked her first competition with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.

Hill won her very first race as she led every lap of her heat race that night at Devil’s Bowl Speedway. While she started on the pole, Hill still had some formidable competition chasing her to the checkered flag in the likes of Sam Hafertepe Jr., Wayne Johnson, Johnny Herrera and Tony Bruce Jr.

“It was pretty cool,” said Hill, who later finished 17th in the A Main. “That will always be a good memory.”

Hill has other reasons to look forward to racing at Devil’s Bowl Speedway.

“It’s one of my favorite tracks and it’s fun to race there,” she said. “I’ve raced there about four or five times. It’s big and it can be tricky. I think it’s a good track to get experience on to help me be a better driver.”

This weekend will also provide Hill another opportunity to race, something she hasn’t been able to do much since being injured early in the season.

“I’d much rather race every weekend like I was before I was hurt,” she said. “About the time I felt better from my accident, I couldn’t race much because I was starting college in Los Angeles. But I’m looking forward to next year when I’m healthy and I’ll be adjusted to school.”
