Mack races to Top-5 finish in Carolina Sizzler opener

Both Mack and Pierce McCarter made the trek to the Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, N.C.) on Saturday afternoon to take part in a doubleheader weekend with the American Crate All-Star Series. With time restrictions forcing officials to align the starting grid for the opening night feature based off time trial results, Mack qualified 18th fastest overall while Pierce came in 20th. With $2,000 on the line, Pierce passed seven cars to finish 13th while Mack weaved his way through the field 14 spots to register an impressive fourth-place finish. With only Mack competing on Sunday for the second round of the Carolina Sizzler, McCarter clocked in fourth fastest in his group, which positioned him 10th on the starting grid for the $10,000-to-win finale. He was the lone car that failed to complete a lap in the weather-shortened 24-lap affair.
