Longdale Speedway Welcoming NASCAR Notables Stewart, Wallace and Schrader on May 3

Inside Line Promotions – LONGDALE, Okla. (April 26, 2017) – Longdale Speedway is excited to welcome a trio of NASCAR notables next week during the inaugural Top Gun Series event at the 3/8-mile dirt oval.

Former NASCAR champion Tony Stewart, who retired from the series following last season, along with Kenny Wallace and Ken Schrader will invade Longdale Speedway on Wednesday, May 3, for NASCAR Night at the Races.

“We are thrilled to welcome Tony Stewart, Kenny Wallace and Ken Schrader and have it as part of our new Top Gun Series,” Longdale Speedway General Manager Greg Burgess said. “All three have a storied history in NASCAR and all three haven’t forgotten their dirt roots so it’s exciting to offer our fans the chance to meet these legends.”

All three drivers will take part in an autograph session from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. under the main grandstand. An additional autograph session will be held in the pits following the event for anyone who purchased a pit pass.

Wallace and Schrader have confirmed they will also be competing in the IMCA modifieds portion of the event. IMCA sport mods, IMCA stock cars and pure stocks will also be racing.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for military members, seniors and children ages 6 to 12. Children ages 5 and younger get in free. Advanced tickets can be purchased by visiting http://www.LongdaleSpeedway.net.

The pit gate opens at 4 p.m. and the main gate at 5:30 p.m. Racing is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

New to Longdale Speedway this season is the Top Gun Series, which will use a draw and redraw format for its races. The Top Gun Series events will consist of a majority of the track’s marquee events and will give Longdale Speedway racers in the pure stock, IMCA sport mod, IMCA stock car and IMCA modified classes a chance at two championships.

“The Top Gun Series will give regional racers a chance at a Longdale championship without committing to the entire season,” Burgess said. “For those racers who are able to travel and run the bigger shows it gives them a reason to run more than they would have maybe planned to run at Longdale with just running the premier shows individually. Also, the fans will look forward to Top Gun Series events knowing they can see more cars, more competition and special series souvenirs.”
