Justin Duty races to Salem Indoor runner-up
John and Justin Duty returned to Salem (Oregon) Indoor Speedway on Saturday to participate in the Bob & Linda Memorial. Justin, the younger half of the father-son team, turned in the best result as he came home second in the 15-car Winebarger class.
Driving the No. 15 car, Justin Duty scored second- and third-place finishes in his heat races on the 1/10-mile track, then rolled off third to start the 30-lap feature. He led the first 15 circuits and ultimately finished in the runner-up spot, 0.923 seconds behind Scott Winebarger. Third place went to Ron Starr, with Collen Winebarger and Zach Riehl completing the top five.
Meanwhile, John Duty drove his No. 15 ride to results of first and second in his heats. He started the main event in the second position but ran into trouble early and finished 13th.
